HOW MUCH DO VWO PLANS COST?

As on January 31st 2019, the VWO Web Testing Standard plans started at approximately USD 4000 per year for 1.2M tested visitors, available up-front. The Enterprise variant started at USD 12,500 per year for 1.2M tested visitors, available up-front.

However, VWO has changed its pricing and bundling model again. Those who are looking for A/B testing and experimentation only can opt for their VWO Testing module with three variants - Growth, Pro and Enterprise.

The prices for VWO Web Testing Standard and Enterprise might be a baseline and a point of guidance for prospective customers since the features for Standard align closely with Growth and Pro, and Enterprise still resonates with the Enterprise variant in the present structure.

Does VWO allow monthly plans?

All the Growth variants in the various VWO modules (including VWO Testing) offer monthly payments for up to 50,000 monthly visitors.

This can be ascertained from their VWO Pricing page.

Beyond 50,000 monthly visitors, and for the variants Pro and Enterprise, quotes have to go through sales and there is no mention of monthly pricing.

When VWO revamped its packages in early 2019, it sunset monthly plans, going with annual packages.

Does VWO offer discounts?

Visual Website Optimizer offers a discount that’s between 10% and 15% for two-year contracts and up to 20% for three year commitments.

So what’s with the VWO options Web Testing and CRO? I’m confused.

VWO offers a number of stand-alone modules, each focused on one aspect of experimentation.

These modules are:

  • VWO Testing (aimed at those who want to run A/B and split tests)
  • VWO Insights (aimed at those who wish to analyze user behavior with tools like session recordings and heat maps)
  • VWO Full Stack (aimed at those who wish to invest in server side testing and mobile app testing)
  • VWO Engage (aimed at those who want to use push notifications to reduce churn and improve user engagement)

Prospects have the ability to opt for one or all of these modules, choosing the variants Growth, Pro and Enterprise from each.

Further, VWO offers two pre-bundled packages - Experience Optimization Essentials and Conversion Optimization Essentials consisting of a combination of the above listed modules for convenience.

How are VWO prices determined?

VWO pricing is based on two factors - the volume of visitors on whom you wish to run tests and how you want to increase conversions.

As an example, if you are only interested in basic A/B testing to boost your conversion rates - you can opt for their VWO Testing module. The final pricing will then depend on the number of monthly tested visitors you wish to work with.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT THE MOST FROM THE VWO TESTING MODULE?

A/B testing needs traffic. This is a given.

You can’t generate consistent results without having a decent sample size to experiment with.

The pricing for VWO Testing available on the site pegs the monthly cost of the Growth variant (their lowest variant) at USD 354 for a mere 50,000 tested visitors.

A decent 100,000 monthly tested visitors might easily set you back by USD 500 per month, if monthly pricing is at all available beyond the 50,000 tested visitors mark.

The Growth variant offers extremely basic targeting, no multivariate testing, the ability to create only 1 project, and only standard integrations from a limited pool.

The value of VWO comes from stacking modules, if you are looking for an all-in-one solution for your CRO needs and do not wish to work with individual, best-in-class solutions for analytics and reporting.

What are VWO’s Javascript capabilities?

VWO offers a code editor for testers who want to dive deep and code up their own variants. Optimizers can use this code editor to apply Test JS/CSS and execute changes across the website, including all variations and the control. They can also apply Global JS/CSS changes to all their test pages (again, including the control). All VWO plans come with the Code Editor.

Which plans boast a VWO API?

The VWO API is organized around the REST architecture style and encodes data in JSON. It supports the basic HTTP request types of POST, GET, PATCH, and DELETE. If you are interested in doing more with the VWO A/B testing solution through its API, you need to invest in the Enterprise plan of its various modules.
