Using Convert Intelligence (Beta) – Your Data
This page explains what happens to your data while you use Convert Intelligence. As you use it, Convert Intelligence reads your messages, any documents you upload, and the account data it needs to answer you. If you opt in during the beta, we may also review your conversations to make the product better. This page applies only to Convert Intelligence and is separate from Convert’s general Privacy Policy. If anything here is unclear, contact us using the chatbox.
What Convert Intelligence is
Convert Intelligence is an AI assistant, currently in beta, embedded across the Convert app. To do its job, while you’re using it, it:
- Reads your experiment and experience reports to explain and debug results
- Reads the account, project, and experiment data it needs to answer your questions
- Reads any documents you upload for analysis
- Proposes changes on your behalf (new experiences, goals, audiences, locations, or edits to draft variations) which you approve before anything is saved. It never changes live experiences, and never saves anything on its own.
All of this stays within your own account and follows your existing permissions. Nothing you do in Convert Intelligence is ever visible to another account.
What we collect
If you opt in to help improve the beta, the data we keep for that purpose is deliberately minimal:
- Filtered summaries and patterns of your conversations, with sensitive information removed before storage (see “Sensitive information” below). We do not keep raw chat logs for improvement.
- The types of changes proposed for you, and whether you accepted or rejected them
- Basic metadata: the date and time, your user account, and the project or account the conversation relates to
Separately, your full conversations and uploaded files are held in your chat history so the assistant can function and you can revisit past sessions. That history is scoped to your account and you can clear it anytime. The improvement data above is the filtered, minimized subset, not a copy of your raw history.
We only collect this from accounts in the beta, and only from users who have opted in. No opt-in, no collection.
Why we collect it
One purpose only: improving Convert Intelligence. To understand common questions, fix weak or unhelpful responses, and design better flows. We do not use your conversations for advertising, sell them, or use them to make automated decisions about you. Wherever we can, we work from summaries and aggregated patterns rather than reading individual conversations.
Our legal basis
For reviewing your conversation content to improve Convert Intelligence, we rely on your consent, which you give through the in-app opt-in the first time you use Convert Intelligence. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Profile → Convert Intelligence (Beta). Withdrawing it stops any further review from that point on, and does not affect the lawfulness of any review carried out before you withdrew.
Who can see your conversations
Access to the filtered improvement data is limited to the Convert product team working on Convert Intelligence.
We also rely on trusted service providers to run Convert Intelligence. They act only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement, and may not use your data for their own purposes:
- OpenAI provides the AI model (gpt-5.6-luna) that powers the assistant and generates responses; it processes your conversation content to produce answers. See OpenAI’s Data Processing Addendum: https://openai.com/policies/data-processing-addendum.
- Cloudflare routes and secures the network traffic between Convert Intelligence and OpenAI, and handles request logging, so your conversation content passes through Cloudflare in transit. See Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum: https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/
OpenAI and Cloudflare process your data in the United States. This international transfer is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (and, for UK data, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum), together with encryption in transit and the filtering described above.
Sensitive information: please read
Our rule is simple: we filter out sensitive information so it isn’t kept in the data we use to improve the product.
- Before any conversation is stored for product improvement, we filter out sensitive information such as customer data, credentials, and financial figures.
- What we keep and review are filtered summaries and patterns, not raw conversations.
- Sensitive content that’s detected is not retained as part of that improvement data.
No automated filter is perfect on free-form text and uploaded files, so please still avoid entering sensitive information into Convert Intelligence, including in uploaded files like CSV exports, which often contain personal or financial data. The filtering is a safety net, not a licence to paste anything.
How long we keep it, and what happens after the beta
Your chat history (full conversations and uploaded files) is scoped to your account and you can clear it at any time. This is permanent and can’t be undone. Clearing it removes those conversations and files. Uploaded files are held only as part of your chat history and follow these same rules; they are not separately retained in the improvement data. Only the filtered, non-sensitive summaries described above are.
The filtered improvement data is kept for the duration of the beta plus 12 months, then permanently deleted. Also worth being clear:
- Withdrawing consent stops future collection from that point on.
- Stopping is not the same as deleting what was already gathered. You can request deletion of data collected before you withdrew (see Your rights).
- When the beta ends, collection stops for everyone, and existing beta data is handled as above.
Your choices and control
- Opting in is your decision alone. It covers only your own conversations, not those of colleagues on the same account.
- You can change your mind at any time in Profile → Convert Intelligence (Beta). Turning it off stops your conversations from being reviewed going forward.
- Choosing not to opt in (or opting out later) doesn’t affect your access to the rest of Convert.
Your rights
If you’re in the EU, UK, or another region with similar data protection laws, you can access the data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, and object to how it’s processed. To exercise any of these, contact [email protected]. We’ll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Changes to this page
If we change how Convert Intelligence handles your data during the beta, we’ll update this page and, where the change is significant, let opted-in users know.
