Masturah Maidin

How to Experiment When There Are No Clicks to Track by Masturah Maidin.

Principal Experience Designer

Digital-only is passé!

Just ask Masturah. She’s a senior designer at the bleeding edge of the AR-VR-MR revolution. Mastura has spent a decade in UX & experimentation across multi-modal displays, IoT devices, and digital twins.

In this talk, she will focus on three things: (1) Why conventional user testing fails in physical-digital (phy-gital) spaces (2) How to measure impact using proxy metrics & mixed method insights, especially when direct tracking isn’t possible (3) First-hand application of these concepts in a real-world case study.

📏

Analytics & Tracking

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
Full-stack experimentation is a buzzword. Yet rarely do vendors or even practitioners focus on the ‘how’ behind celebrated success stories, elaborating on the challenges of tracking & measuring usage outside conventional digital-only setups.

Anmol Patel

Transforming Women's Experiences: AI + Experimentation in Beauty, Fashion, Finance, and Healthcare by Anmol Patel.

Senior Manager, Web & Experimentation @ Sonova Group.

"Experimentation goes beyond business metrics. It changes lives."

Anmol’s passion aligns with this summit’s mission.

By day, she is a corporate ace, a digital strategist who has worked with giants like Microsoft and Verizon. Through sheer enthusiasm, she’s a changemaker committed to bringing inclusivity to fashion, beauty, finance, and healthcare - all industries directly shaping the experiences of women.

Anmol’s session is hands-on. She’ll share how AI is challenging norms by personalizing everything - from skincare to PCOS detection to wealth-building for (oft-overlooked) women. She’ll also give you her tried and true strategies to advocate for more inclusive experimentation, ultimately leading to fairer outcomes for everyone.

🧠

Artificial Intelligence

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
AI is changing the way we test. We can now do more, better, faster than ever before. But AI models are famously biased. The onus lies on experimentation leaders to ensure that AI usage leads to benefits for all - and not just a select few.

Theo van der Zee

Nudging Visitors Towards Sustainable Choices Without Sacrificing Profitability by Theo van der Zee.

Conversion Optimization Specialist & Speaker.

You realize that sustainability isn’t the ‘flavor of the month’ but haven’t been successful in moving your org to embrace it? Theo’s talk is the solution.

Visitors have certain barriers in place that keep them from gravitating towards planet-friendly decisions. They are wary of manipulation and greenwashing. However, all’s not lost since simplicity, transparency, and perceived value make up the powerful trifecta you can apply to tests to bring hesitant prospects around.

In his 30 minutes, Theo will share how CRO principles help buyers consume less or consume consciously, without eroding your bottomline.

🌳

Sustainability

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
Our current economic system is broken. We must stop optimizing for growth at all costs. There are proven ways to ensure long-term profits, without completely abandoning real environmental responsibility.

Joy Essien

The UX Mindset: Making Usability Everyone’s Job by Joy Essien.

UX Manager @ InScope-AML.

The premise is simple: Usability is a shared responsibility. It isn’t something designers “do” in isolation. From product to engineering to marketing, everyone plays a role in creating usable, human-centered experiences.

Joy will dedicate her session to covering why usability matters (beyond aesthetics), how you can empower non-designers to pitch in and flag friction early, and tips (including real-world case studies) to foster the right kind of collaboration -- one that ultimately improves usability.

🎨

Usability & Design

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
Everything in a business boils down to usability. If your intended audience can’t ‘adopt’ your app or your website workflows, macro-conversions and prolonged engagement are almost impossible. Joy’s session shows how you can unlock big usability wins by testing small changes suggested by other departments.

Isabel Macdonald

What Behavioral Economics Teaches Optimizers by Isabel Macdonald.

Senior Behavioral Scientist @ Irrational Labs.

Stubborn problems push you to leave the local maxima behind. And consider roads less trod.

Isabel Macdonald is a quiet ace up the sleeve. Armed with a PhD in economics, she uses her academic knowledge in applied experimentation, helping clients at Irrational Labs successfully reframe their offers and launches.

In this session, Isabel will walk you through how behavioral science helps decide what to test to improve uptake and conversions, as well as how to test to increase the reliability of your experiments.

🧪

Behavioral Science

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
Experimentation teams are thriving, thanks to the addition of specialists like psychologists and behavioral economists who lend their unique perspective to the world of testing, helping optimizers decode human motivations and design tests that matter.

Kevin Anderson

Propel your Experimentation Career Forward: Real Learnings from 1700 CRO Job Posts by Kevin Anderson.

Founder @ Experimentation Media (and Experimentation Jobs).

When 1700 optimization & experimentation jobs talk, what’s the consensus?

Kevin Anderson knows.

Over the last 3 years, he has collected a gold mine of information pertaining to the CRO, data, product, and experimentation jobs that have gone live on his Experimentation Jobs board.

In this exciting segment, Kevin will combine data from 1000+ job posts, and insights from dozens of interviews to help you identify the skills, roles, and strategies that matter. Be privy to in-demand competencies and titles across experimentation, how top practitioners have shaped their careers, what they’d do differently, and common career traps to avoid.

🚀

Personal Development

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
Securing the experimentation position of your dreams calls for not just hard skills, but also a variety of soft skills, the right highlights in your CV, and impactful stories of real value. In today’s job market, insider tips are a competitive advantage.

Shirley van Haalem

A Call To Action for Digital Accessibility by Shirley van Haalem.

CRO Manager @ Online Dialogue.

Shirley talks about digital accessibility.

But she does so from a place of authority. Shirley is not only a CRO manager at Online Dialogue, she is also someone who borrows from life - as an individual with low vision - to inform her own experiments.

In this talk, she’ll prepare you for the upcoming European Accessibility Act (EAA) by busting common myths that keep you from grasping how crucial accessibility considerations truly are and by linking improved accessibility to more revenue.

🎨

Usability & Design

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
Accessibility is trending and for good reason. If you’re in experimentation, you’ve heard the rumblings and have attended talks. We wanted this accessibility discussion to be led by someone who not only examines its principles at work, but also benefits from better accessibility in her personal life.

Cristina Molina

Inbox to Impact: Kickstarting Your Email Optimization Journey by Cristina Molina Maestro.

Senior CRO Specialist @ Verifone.

One-off subject line tests and product block tweaks are not email optimization. A high revenue channel, emails deserve the same rigour and experimentation discipline as other digital properties.

This talk is your first step in the right direction. Cristina will cover key elements such as project planning, stakeholder alignment, testing frameworks, and best practices for execution, along with her own results-driven, high-impact email optimization strategy.

🪜

Growth

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
It’s time email is acknowledged as a major revenue amplifier and its potential maximized through systematic optimization. Cristina’s expertise brings much-needed credibility to the topic, and a definitive starting point for companies serious about leaving uninspired email comms behind!

Hesh Fekry

Working with Frameworks: Melding Process & Gut Checks by Hesh Fekry.

President @ CXL.

We all love a good framework. But it is easy to get carried away by the siren call of scalability and be utterly blinkered.

What is the framework developed to accomplish? Is it the right fit for the business problem you’re currently grappling with? Do you need to take a step back and hand the reins over to professional intuition instead?

Hesh comes to the table with everything you need to tell a good framework apart from the fluff, and a real-life story where simple interviews solved a problem a touchstone framework couldn’t!

Growth

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
We are drowning in frameworks! Period.

Margo Lau

Finding Strength in Vulnerability: Navigating the Career-Motherhood Intersection by Margo Lau.

Fractional CMO & Growth Advisor.

The path between professional ambition and motherhood is often a complex one!

It doesn’t have to be so! Margo sees them as complementary identities and has successfully integrated both into her self-concept.

In this session, she will share practical frameworks for deciding when and how to disclose pregnancy during job searches or career transitions, with real examples of the different approaches.

She’ll also offer tools to address common emotional challenges, including guilt about “hiding” pregnancy, anxiety about perception, and doubt about timing.

🚀

Personal Development

Why Was This Talk Chosen?
This summit prioritizes embracing all of who you are. Motherhood is an undeniable part of many people’s journey. Viewing it as a strength, instead of a career speed bump, is an invaluable skill for interested attendees.

Diversity in Experimentation

03

Moderated networking with Daphne Tideman, Lucia van den Brink, and Marcella Sullivan.

They say in-person events encourage networking. That may be true. But for travel-weary introverts, conference mingling can be extremely exhausting and rather cursory.

That’s why we are doing things differently.

Our networking session is adapted to:

  • Leverage supply and demand. We’ll survey registered attendees & connect those who want to take the lead to those who wish to be mentored.

  • Honor all voices, not just the loudest in the room.

  • Give women the platform they often need but don’t want to be seen taking because of modesty, imposter syndrome, and a whole host of other reasons!

This summit wasn’t supposed to happen.

Excellence and diversity don’t go hand-in-hand -- A powerful excuse to keep the status quo and give the spotlight to safe bets. Speakers & experts who have done it before.

But 2024’s maiden edition proved that those who haven’t spread their wings yet can fly high when given the opportunity and the resources to do so.

We want 2025 to break last year’s records.

All this and a lot more!

Help us get there?

The sense of empowerment this summit has brought to women and even men who haven’t had the time to build a following is priceless.

It has leveled the playing field.

And raised the quality of conversations in our space by injecting new viewpoints and voices.

Win-win-win.

Let’s go!

An Event By the Community, For the Community

There would be no summit without the cause of uplifting voices left behind!

The vibrant, continuously growing Women in Experimentation community, co-founded by Lucia van den Brink & Daphne Tideman is a force to be reckoned with.

Its board, including the dynamic Marcella Sullivan, champions asking the question, “What about diversity?

Change happens when change is prioritized. Women in Experimentation nudges events, meet-ups, conferences, and content creation in the CRO space to pay attention to the collaboration bonus, and to put in the effort needed to ensure that at least 30% of speakers and contributors are women, preferably from a range of ethnic backgrounds.

Sneak Peek At Our Speaker Selection

All 93 applications were scored by 3 judges.

For the following criteria:

Innovation in the Topic

We wanted to avoid talks that had already been given at other conferences. There is value in repetition, and we acknowledge that most seasoned speakers have one “winning” talk. However, for the maiden edition of the summit, fresh & new were the keywords.

Actionable Takeaways

Talks that would offer a framework or a mental model to the attendees received higher scores.

Passion in the Pitch

That X-factor. How excited did the speakers get us about the learning? Could they transmit their (infectious) energy to us?

Structure and Thinking

Did the video/audio pitch have an opening, a body, and a close? What concepts and ideas were being shared and did they reflect meticulous (mature) thinking?

The top 5 applicants from each scorer were pooled together and the line-up was reviewed for diversity.

We had to include 3 speakers who identified as male.

And we had to have 3 Rising Star speaker slots.
