Optimizely software runs on cookies. GDPR—Europe’s new privacy legislation—classifies cookies as personal data, and requires some pretty strict legal foundations for processing personal data. In most cases—you’ll have to get explicit user permission to run website cookies, and to store results inside Optimizely X. Which means, if you’re users don’t click to confirm they’re okay with A/B testing—you can’t legally include them in your tests with Optimizely.
In the default setting—Convert doesn’t process any personal data. This makes complying with global privacy standards much easier. No user consent is needed to A/B test—so you can still use 100% of your web traffic in tests, and get meaningful results, fast.
If you want help with something at Optimizely, and you’re not paying for their enterprise plans—you’re going to have to submit a support ticket, and you’re going to have to wait. You need mobile app testing combined with website testing, this is probably your best pick. Optimizely did a great job merging the two at a very attractive rate. Enterprise features combined less expensive that tools like Adobe & Webtrends.

No personal data stored
Site visitors are lumped into “buckets”—rather than singled out individually or tracked with cookies. So in the default setting, you can run Convert without requiring user consent. To date, we’re the only enterpise-level tool that doesn’t collect personal data.
